EICRs for Holt homes, landlords and holiday lets

A careful inspection of the fixed electrical installation, followed by a clear report that explains what was tested and what—if anything—needs attention.

What an EICR checks

An Electrical Installation Condition Report assesses the condition of fixed wiring, circuits, protective devices, earthing and bonding. Testing can identify deterioration, unsuitable alterations and defects that may not be visible during everyday use.

Holt’s mix of period houses, renovated cottages and frequently occupied holiday accommodation means installations can contain work from several eras. We approach the inspection methodically and avoid assumptions based on appearance alone.

What happens after testing?

You receive the report digitally. If observations are recorded, we explain their classifications in plain English and separate urgent safety issues from recommendations. Any remedial work is discussed and agreed separately; the inspection does not commit you to additional work.

Preparing for an EICR

Access is normally needed to the consumer unit, sockets, switches and representative points throughout the property. Some circuits will be switched off during testing. For managed or unoccupied properties, we can coordinate practical access with the owner or key holder.
